Edge Switch Interruption - Equinix SY4

Network engineers were alerted to an edge switch in the Equinix SY4 data centre that had lost its upstream connectivity. This switch provides connectivity to dedicated server services in a single rack. Upon investigation, we identified that a downstream service caused a MAC loop, which resulted in the switch entering a protective state. This would have resulted in services connecting to the switch experiencing a service interruption of up to 10 minutes. Connectivity has since been restored and services should be working as expected.
