UBC Monitoring Canvas Cyber Incident; Systems Remain Operational

UBC is continuing to investigate a cyber-related incident involving Instructure, the parent company of the Canvas learning management system. We are in direct contact with Instructure and are continuing to monitor the situation closely.

Canvas remains operational for teaching and learning activities.

We recommend that faculty, staff, and students continue to be vigilant against phishing and follow best practices for protecting their accounts and data, including using strong passwords and enabling multi-factor authentication where available.

We are aware of a cyber-related incident involving Instructure (Canvas) and are currently investigating the situation. We are in direct contact with Instructure and are continuing to monitor the situation closely. An update will be shared as more information becomes available.
