Microsoft has announced that effective July 13th, 2026, Office applications will no longer be supported on older MacOS and iOS systems, and further, they are removing support for older versions of Office entirely. • Clients which are running operating systems earlier than the following minimums will no longer be able to edit or save files after the change: Mac OS – minimum version 12.0 (Monterey) iOS – minimum version 17.0 • Clients who are using Office 2019 for Mac, regardless of operating system, will be unable to edit or save files after the change. • Clients who are using Office 2021 for Mac or MS 365 apps on iPhone and iPads will continue to function normally, provided the operating systems are supported (as listed above) and at the following minimum software versions: Office 2021 for Mac – minimum version 16.83 MS365 apps for iOS – minimum version 2.93 UBC IT strongly recommends that all clients running Office on a Mac, iPhone, or iPad update their operating systems and Office software before July 13th to prevent any disruptions.
