Outage Details

Central 1 has received several reports of a Spear Phishing scam where fraudsters have been falsely claiming to be Central 1 and contacting Financial Institutions' staff by phone and email. The scam advises that: Central 1 has sent out a new terms and conditions and that the Financial Institution has not yet accepted it. As a result, their e-Transfers and emails are being held. The actor then attempts to trick the victim to click a link and login with their Client Centre login (username, password, and token). Note the actor was pressuring the targets to act urgently, would not give specifics when questioned, and reluctance when asked for a callback number. If you (or your customer/member) receive a communication (call or email) that appears to be from Central 1, where you are uncertain about the authenticity, please contact our support team so we can take measures to validate the communication(s) for you. If the nature of the communication is sensitive, please direct the query to your Client Engagement lead.
