Metro Connect dark fiber link between SP1 and SP4 IBX went down at 12:19 h BRT on 30-MAR-2025. Equinix Fabric Metro Remote port and Unprotected Metro Connect circuits experience service interruption while Protected Metro Connect circuits experienced 50ms switching hit. Equinix engineers are investigating issue.

The Dark fiber provider is still working to restore the path between SP2 and SP4. The path between SP1 and SP4 was restored since 08:20 UTC on March 31.

The provider has restored one of the routes between SP1 and SP4, and the MC Unprotected circuits that use this path were reestablished at 05:20 BRT. The provider is still working on the section between SP2 and SP4. We will provide further updates as soon as we have relevant information

The dark fiber provider's rack was affected by the fire and, as a result, was de-energized. The IBX team is currently assessing the water damage to the RPPs and is working to re-energize them as soon as all safety measures are ensured. The MC circuits became unavailable due to a small fire in a colocation area in SP4. The fire has now been contained, and the IBX team is currently focused on removing the smoke. All CRAH units are operational, and the temperature in the colocation center is stabilized within the SLA parameters. The IBX team continues to work to clear the smoke and re-energize the RPPs.
