March 2026: All administrators are unable to run payroll
Gusto experienced a major incident where administrators were unable to run payroll due to login issues and 504 gateway timeout errors affecting the Payroll, Benefits, and HR systems. Users reported being unable to log in despite receiving 2FA codes, and those who did manage to access the system encountered error messages preventing them from running payroll, approving hours, or adding new hires. The incident was resolved after 2.2 hours of investigation.
