On March 4, 2025, at 02:09:10 UTC, Equinix SMC detected an outage on a Connect link between LD5 and LD8 IBX. This affected Metro Connect and Fabric Metro Remote customers, leading to service interruptions for Equinix Fabric Metro Remote ports and unprotected Metro Connect circuits, while Dual Diverse Metro Connect ports were unaffected. The issue resolved itself, with service restored at the same time it was detected. The Dark Fiber provider indicated there was no planned maintenance or emergency repairs, suggesting a fiber disturbance that could not be pinpointed.
