There’s a Salesforce service performance degradation. Users can access the Salesforce service, but some functionality can be unavailable or running at less than optimal performance. General and intermittent slow performance, timeouts, and connectivity issues are possible. We’re investigating the issue and an update will be provided in 30 minutes or sooner if we have more information.

We initially communicated that a site switch was required for the quickest resolution. However, after reviewing additional paths to resolution, we decided to failover the Database services to the backup node to see if that helps in resolving the issue. The Technology team started the failover at 09:04 UTC and completed the activity at 09:22 UTC . After the failover initial reports are indicating positive outcomes. We continue to closely monitor the performance levels before declaring an all-clear.
There is a trailing performance degradation due to the queue buildup during the disruption. The team is monitoring the backlog of jobs that remains to be processed.

We have determined that a site switch is required for quickest resolution and are starting the site switch now. During this time the Salesforce service will be unavailable to customers.
