Nutritionix downtime causing Unknown Error on Kalix

Nutritionix's API is currently down, which means accounts that have linked up to Nutritionix will see an 'Unknown Error' message when they open a client record and the Nutritionix tab will not be available. Unknown Errors

We are aware of "Unknown Errors" that are currently occurring on the Kalix system. It does not seem to be every request, but some requests are returning a 0 length response which is not expected and will cause the unknown error. We are currently looking into the cause of the issue - it seems to be occurring between our servers and Cloudflare, which distributes our data.

Increase in timeouts in database

We have picked up an increase in errors coming from our database, that corresponded to an access outage with our provider. It looks like we were not affected by the original issue, but it seems that we have been getting increased timeouts ever since the original issue occurred. We are currently investigating the issue with our provider and hope to get the database back to a healthy state soon. The problem seems to be only with a fraction of requests to Kalix, so it doesn't seem to be a complete outage, however random actions in Kalix may have an error as this issue continues. We will update this page once we have had an update.

Email failures/slowness

Our email provider had an issue which means that Kalix emails were failing with an unknown error. It seems that these issues are not 100% resolved so emails may still be delayed when sending, but they should not error. We are monitoring at this time and will update once emails should be back to normal.

Document & Reminder timeouts

There is currently an issue loading documents (including templates) and reminders. Some of these queries may work, but there may also be timeouts. Certain queries are more affected than others, depending on how they are loaded, and it seems like templates and reminders are particularly affected. The underlying cause is that an indexing maintenance job was unsuccessful and now the index for these records has to be rebuilt. Until these indexes are complete, the queries loading the data will be inefficient and may take too long to complete and will come up with a timeout error. Unfortunately, it may take an hour or two for these indexing tasks to be completed. We will update this incident once we have more idea of the progress.

Carrier Violation Errors on SMS

We are aware that a number of SMS messages are failing with a 'Carrier Violation' error message. Our provider is currently following up with the carrier about this issue. We will update this issue once it has been fixed and messages can be retried.

Faxes unknown error

We have identified the issue that is causing faxes to error with an unknown error. This is not related to the ongoing message status issue. We should hopefully have a patch for this issue soon, however we have to be careful when we make the release so this may not happen until this evening.
