The Mux Dashboard at dashboard.mux.com was unavailable for 1.5 hours, displaying exceptions when users attempted to load the page. All other Mux Data and Video services remained operational during the incident. The issue was resolved after implementing a fix and monitoring its effectiveness.

A recent encoding change caused video clips created in the last 24 hours to lose their audio due to initialization metadata mismatches, specifically affecting clips from assets created before March 6, 15:11 UTC that used "basic" or "premium" video quality settings. The issue impacted Mux Video VOD service for 3.1 hours before engineers resolved the underlying problem. New clips now function correctly, but affected clips created during the incident require recreation from the original assets as they cannot be retroactively fixed.

Mux experienced issues with their Data Monitoring collection pipeline starting at 05:14 UTC, causing delayed or missing data in the Mux Dashboard and Data Collection components. The incident lasted 3.2 hours, with users experiencing significant latency in data collection throughout the event. The issue was identified and fixed by 07:55 UTC, with full resolution confirmed at 08:35 UTC after monitoring showed latency had returned to normal levels.

Mux Video experienced delays in video ingestion and webhook delivery starting at approximately 19:53 UTC, affecting the VOD (Video on Demand) service for some customers.
